In Vancouver

Arrived late last night and am more or less hard at work. We stuffed bags with goodies, catalogues, maps, pencils, and the 136 page program for 835 delegates this morning, and moved harps in from around the city. There were perhaps 12 in the harp pen last I saw it, but some people had already taken some to practice on.

Another 25 or so arrive tomorrow!

I've already got to meet one World Famous Harpist - it's going to be quite the week.

Met about 25 volunteers today and we're expecting another 30 tomorrow. It's amazing how many people it takes.

Tomorrow we also start accepting CD's from those who want to sell them at the merchandise table. When I enquired how many people intended to bring CD's for sale last week, we got over 50 replies. That doesn't even count the ones who have theirs sold by Lyon and Healy or one of the other retailers. I may aquire a lifetime supply.  Should have brought more cash. (cash only at the CD table - fair warning!)

The tuning and regulating go on non-stop. I think tuning 36 strings is bad - 47 for the big pedal jobs, and then it is on to the next.  All the performance ones are being regulated, which means adjusting the part that shortens the string (two per harp for the double action) time 47 strings times at least 10 harps today by Jason the Lyon & Healy man. wow. And tune and re-tune.

I can't find a spell check on this software, sorry for the typos - talk to you all tomorrow!
